I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to spread a bit of joy and happiness to others. More often than not, happiness comes in little starts here and there, little moments in time that illuminate your heart like a candle in darkness. So based on this (and a post I saw on a friend’s Facebook page), here’s a list of those little moments that bring a smile to my—and hopefully your—face:
Little Moments of Joy:
- Watching a hedgehog explore nature
- A stranger opening a door for you
- A clean kitchen
- Reading the best parts in your favorite book
- An early morning run
- Listening to a child’s laughter
- Watching green things grow
- Kicking off a pair of shoes after a long day
- A whiff of fresh basil
- The smell of freshly baked pumpkin bread (regardless of the season)
Now it’s your turn. What are those little things that bring a spark of pure joy to your heart? What turns a hard day into something a little more bearable? What brings your sun out of the clouds in your life, if only for a brief moment? There are reasons for happiness everywhere.
