I’m very excited. Today is the first day of the LDS Church’s 2017 Light the World Campaign. It’s an amazing way to keep Jesus in Christmas and serve others. I did it last year, and Lizzy and I had a great time. This year I want to take it a step further and blog about my experiences every day.
Jesus taught:
“Freely ye have received, freely give.”
—Matthew 10:8
Jesus gave freely: He gave of his time, his love, and his very life. For us. Surely with all that we’ve been given, we can give a little in return. For my day, I decided to give of time. This might seem like an easy one, but if you know what my schedule was, you’d realize that it wasn’t easy; it was a sacrifice.
There are a lot of ways to give of your time. I did so by indexing genealogical records. I worked on New Hampshire births, deaths, and marriages from the 1700s-1900s. I’m hoping that I’ll come across Joseph Warner, an ancestor that’s been annoyingly elusive in tracking down. However you choose to freely give, do so with happiness in your heart.
Choose Joy.
